Business Development Manager - XLVets Ireland

    The position of Brand & Commercial Manager is a new and significant leadership role at XLVets working within its market consultancy business unit – VetInsights. Working through its member practice network and supplier partnerships, the role will be responsible for maintaining and growing XLVets as a channel to market.

    Reporting to the CEO, this role directly supports the delivery of specific strategic projects set by the CEO, the Board, and the VetInsights Steering Group and is capable of managing the related interdependencies within and outside the network.

    Duties, responsibilities and objectives:

    • Supporting the CEO in delivering specific strategic and operational projects
    • Leading and identifying specific new business development opportunities
    • Building and managing relationships with existing and potential future partners
    • Work with the VetInsights Steering Group to assist with demand driven business case creation, planning and monitoring
    • Supporting the strategy development process at XLVets
    • Leading the execution of the marketing strategy at XLVets
    • Conducting strategic research and analysis, including financial analysis, competitor analysis, stakeholder analysis, member practice analysis and developing strategic insights and recommendations
    • Determining the requirements of a project, and communicating them clearly to stakeholders, facilitators and partners (within and outside of XLVets) and where needed leading the project to completion
    • Managing project scope, timelines and implementation
    • Working with the CEO on project updates, risks and key deliverables
    • Structuring new business arrangements & partnerships incl. contracts
    • Conducting cost/ benefit analyses, creating business cases, strategically framing challenges and opportunities
    • Providing clear and impactful communication to the XLVets Board and VetInsights Steering Group.
    • Evaluating strategic options, providing recommendations ground in data & facts
    • Benchmark the performance of XLVet members against the agreed XLVet procurement strategy
    • Monitor the payment of rebates by suppliers to XLVet members
    • Use GfK and other data sources to monitor the external market and to identify trends, gaps and potential risks to supply and to benchmark XLVets market performance against the market
    • Written and verbal communication, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
