    On 11 September, Ger Cusack of and Chairman of XLVets presented the UCD Vet School rugby team with a new set of jerseys sponsored by XLVets. The Vet School Rugby team competes in the Dublin Hospitals Rugby Cup which was inaugurated way back in 1881. Given that the IRFU was founded in 1879, it can rightly claim to the oldest rugby competition in Ireland!

    XLVets Skillnet put the dental care of small animals centre stage at the UCD Veterinary Sciences on the 27th and 28th of April.     Farmers from Inis Mor, the largest of the Aran Islands, attended an XLVet Skillnet training event on Disease Management and Biosecurity on 20 February 2013. The event was facilitated by Glenina Vets from Galway.

    XLVets Skillnet held its first FarmSkills workshop on the farm of David and Fiona Murphy, Tallow, Co. Waterford. FarmSkills is a new training initiative that provises farmers with practical skills for pre-empting herd health problems. The training facilitator at the launch was Owen Atkinson and the attendees included Alan Jagoe, President of Macra na Feirme.
