    Everything is better when the sun shines! Participants in this years Bike and Hike had a fantastic time touring through the Glen of Aherlow in the Limerick Tipperary border and climbing Galtee Mor. Since their inception in 2005 the VIVA Wheelers have raised €224,000. This years event contributed €13,500 which will be used to fund Phase 2 of the Ugandan Animal Traction Project. See...

    On 11 September, Ger Cusack of and Chairman of XLVets presented the UCD Vet School rugby team with a new set of jerseys sponsored by XLVets. The Vet School Rugby team competes in the Dublin Hospitals Rugby Cup which was inaugurated way back in 1881. Given that the IRFU was founded in 1879, it can rightly claim to the oldest rugby competition in Ireland!

    XLVets Skillnet put the dental care of small animals centre stage at the UCD Veterinary Sciences on the 27th and 28th of April. The event focused on the practicalities of making the latest developments in the diagnosis and treatment of small animal dental problems available to pet owners and their pets.     Farmers from Inis Mor, the largest of the Aran Islands, attended an XLVet Skillnet training event on Disease Management and Biosecurity on 20 February 2013. The event was facilitated by Glenina Vets from Galway.

    XLVets Skillnet organised a very successful training event on Wet Lab orthopaedics entitled 'Moving up a Gear in Fracture Fixation' which was led by Professor John Innes of the University of Liverpool and James Dunne of Ark Veterinary Clinic in Galway. The event was held at the Pan Veterinary Clinic in Kildare.
